Common questions
What do I actually get for the monthly price?
The app types what you said. Wavenote+ writes it for you as well: hold the rewriting key and a rambling thought comes out as the email, the Slack message or the bullet points you meant, in wording you set yourself, and you can set different wording for each app. It also speaks one language and writes another, summarises a meeting note, turns what you said into your to-dos, answers questions about your notes, names the one thing to do today against what you said this quarter is for, and drops the device limit. Everything else on this page is already in the $4.90 app, and it stays yours whether or not you subscribe.
Will it run on my Mac and iPhone?
If your Mac has an Apple chip and runs macOS 27 or later, yes. Intel Macs are not supported. The first time you pick a language, Wavenote downloads what it needs to hear that language: about 480 MB for English, about 540 MB for Japanese. The iPhone app needs iOS 27 and is in beta on TestFlight for now.
What happens if I cancel Wavenote+?
The app stays yours and keeps working. AI rewriting, translation, meeting summaries, to-dos and planning your day stop. Dictation, file transcription and custom vocabulary carry on, because they run on your Mac or iPhone.
Can I buy Wavenote now and subscribe later?
Yes. From then on you pay the subscription instead, and the $4.90 doesn't count toward it.
How many devices does a licence cover?
Wavenote covers 2 devices, in any mix of Macs and iPhones. Wavenote+ covers every device you own. You can release one yourself from Settings, under Licence.
Does anything I say leave my Mac or iPhone?
Dictation and file transcription never send your audio or text anywhere, on either price or either device. You can check that by turning your wifi off and carrying on. If the app crashes or a transcription breaks, it sends an error report with none of your words in it. Wavenote+ features are the exception: to rewrite, summarise or answer a question about your notes, the text involved goes to our server and on to an AI service, and the result comes back. Our server doesn't save that text. It keeps a count of requests.
What happens if a rewrite fails?
Your raw transcript goes in instead. No network, a timeout or an expired licence all end the same way.
Can I get a refund?
Within 30 days, for any reason. Write to hello@getwavenote.com and the whole purchase comes back.
