What Wispr Flow does better

Wispr Flow runs on Windows, iOS and Android as well as the Mac, covers 100+ languages, and its writing model is good at inferring tone from context without being told. It also goes further on compliance than Wavenote ever will: a HIPAA-ready BAA on every plan, SOC 2 Type II for Enterprise, ISO 27001 certification under way, a Privacy Mode that retains nothing, and an opt-out from model training. If you work across operating systems, Wavenote does not solve your problem at all: it is Apple Silicon Mac only and will stay that way.

Where Wavenote is different

• • Dictation and file transcription happen on your Mac. Wispr promises not to keep your audio; Wavenote never sends it, which is a different kind of promise.
• • Both record meetings on the Mac without a bot in the call. Wispr's privacy page says transcription always happens in the cloud, so the recording still leaves the machine to become text. Wavenote's does not.
• • Wavenote is $4.90 once for dictation, file transcription and the meeting notes. Only the AI rewriting and the summaries are a subscription.
• • Dictation keeps working with the network off.
