Voice to text for Mac

Most people type faster than they think and think faster than they type. Wavenote closes the gap: you talk at speaking speed and the words arrive where you were already working.

It goes where you are

There is no window to switch to and nothing to copy out. Hold your key in Slack and the message appears in Slack. Hold it in Mail and it appears in Mail.

It stays on your Mac

Recognition is local. Not local-first, not local-when-possible: local. You can watch it work in Airplane Mode.

It learns the words you use

Every dictation app mangles company names and colleagues' surnames. Add them once under Vocabulary and they stop being wrong.

It does files too

Drop an audio or video file onto the queue and you get text, SRT, VTT or Markdown back, from the same speech model on the same Mac. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is charged by the minute.

What it needs

A Mac with an Apple chip, running macOS 27 or later. The app is 13.5 MB. The first time you pick a language it downloads the speech model for it: about 480 MB for English, about 540 MB for Japanese. After that, recognition never touches the network.
